Aaron Velez will make his return to the sidelines, replacing Clarence Esteban as the head coach of Chery Tiggo, the team announced on Monday night.
Velez, who steered the Crossovers to the first-ever professional volleyball title back in the Ilocos Norte bubble in 2021, spent the past two conferences serving as the team’s manager.
He last coached the team back in the 2022 Open Conference where they finished in eighth place.
Esteban eventually replaced him in the Invitational Conference. They placed last during that tournament but eventually bounced back with a semifinals appearance in the season-ending Reinforced Conference.
Chery Tiggo recently lost star opposite hitter Dindin Santiago-Manabat, who has now transferred to Akari, but signed former Choco Mucho standout Ponggay Gaston.
