The Premier Volleyball League turns 10 with bigger stars, a bold new championship format and a season-opening showcase in Cebu that promises to set the tone for its landmark staging.
Adding even more sparkle to the milestone season is the return of Alas Pilipinas’ biggest names, who are set to rejoin their respective club teams after months of national-team duty and bring with them valuable international experience.
The celebration begins Oct. 10 at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena, where the PVL launches a first-of-its-kind three-leg All-Filipino Conference featuring the Siklab, Sigla and Sinag series – a season-long race that puts a premium not only on winning, but also on consistency, depth and endurance.
And with the country’s top players now back in the fold, the opening leg promises to have no shortage of star power.
Leading the much-anticipated return are Bella Belen of Capital1, Sisi Rondina and Eya Laure of Choco Mucho, Jia De Guzman and Bernadeth Pons of Creamline, and Akari’s Justine Jazareno and Mars Alba – all set to see action on opening day.
The festivities begin at 1 p.m., with Belen’s Solar Spikers taking on Rondina and Laure’s Flying Titans. At 6 p.m., De Guzman and Pons’ Cool Smashers face Jazareno, Alba and the Chargers in the second marquee matchup of the day, bringing the PVL’s milestone celebration to the Queen City of the South.
Also returning to club action are Dell Palomata of PLDT, along with Vanie Gandler and Erika Santos of Capital1.
Their return comes after an extended stint with Alas Pilipinas that culminated in the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026. With the national-team window temporarily taking several of the league’s biggest stars away from their clubs, teams had to navigate the PVL On Tour and Invitational without some of their key pieces.
Now, those pieces are back – and with them comes an added layer of excitement.
For the fans, it means the return of matchups they have been waiting to see. For the clubs, it restores proven firepower and experience to their lineups. And for the PVL, it provides the perfect cast of stars to usher in a season celebrating a decade of growth.
The occasion is made even more significant as the PVL and Spikers’ Turf both mark their 10th seasons, underscoring the steady rise of professional volleyball in the country.
Over the past decade, the PVL has evolved from a developing league into one of Philippine sports’ biggest volleyball stages, fueled by increasingly passionate fan bases, packed arenas, established stars and a steady stream of emerging talent.
The milestone season now takes another step forward by bringing its opening act to Cebu.
The elaborate opening ceremonies at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena form part of Sports Vision’s continuing push to broaden the reach of professional volleyball. Taking the season opener to the Queen City of the South reflects the sport’s growing following beyond Metro Manila and gives Cebuano fans a front-row seat to the start of a potentially historic campaign.
With a marquee double-header, a new three-series race and the return of the country’s top national-team standouts, the PVL’s 10th season is not merely another opening day.
It is the beginning of a longer, tougher and more consequential journey—with every series, every match and every win potentially shaping the race for the Philippine Grand Championship.
A decade in, the PVL is raising the stakes. And it is doing so with its biggest stars back where they belong: on the court.
