In an interview held at the Filoil Ecooil Centre on Thursday afternoon, Premier Volleyball League (PVL) President Richard Palou addressed the recent developments and provided updates on the league's plans, including the much-anticipated third conference for the 2023 PVL Season.
Palou assured fans and stakeholders that the league is committed to proceeding with the season-ending conference, regardless of the challenges faced.
"We have discussed the matter with the team managers, and they will consult with the owners of the clubs and then provide us with their feedback. We require a few days to finalize the plans, but we can assure you that we will have a third conference, with or without the imports," Palou said.
Palou remained optimistic about finding resolutions. When asked about the potential impact on the league, he responded, "I believe everything can be resolved. We just need to sit down and discuss all the problems and issues to reach a decision."
Palou also shared the target date for resolving the ongoing concerns. "By the end of next week, after the Volleyball Nations League, everything will be finalized, as FIVB officials will be present. Tats Suzara's idea is for all parties to convene and find a solution," he revealed.
Despite the challenges faced, the PVL remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a platform for players and ensuring an exciting season for fans.
As the PVL continues its discussions and works towards a resolution, fans, and players eagerly anticipate the upcoming third conference, eager to witness thrilling matches and witness the resilience of the teams.
With next week's Volleyball Nations League set to bring together key stakeholders and FIVB officials, the hope is that a fruitful discussion will lead to positive outcomes for the PVL and its future endeavors.
