PLDT, Pascua go separate ways

PLDT will be parading a new head coach come the 2023 Premier Volleyball League season.

This, as the High Speed Hitters announced on Monday that they have parted ways with head coach George Pascua following his one-year stay with the ball club.

“We would like to thank Coach George Pascua for all that he has done for the team,” said PLDT in a statement.

“He built a program that helped the players strengthen their teamwork and gameplay, as they faced their battles on the court during the three conferences that Coach George was on board. We wish him well as he moves on to new endeavors,” the statement continued.

Pascua took over the head coaching job from Roger Gorayeb at the start of the 2022 season. He helped the team finish at fifth place in the Open Conference before steering the squad to its first-ever semifinals appearances in the Invitational Conference.

However, the team failed to live up to expectations in the season-ending Reinforced Conference where they finished at sixth place.

Pascua is expected to focus on Adamson University’s men’s volleyball squad.
