ANTIPOLO — Choco Mucho continued to flex its early-season form, overwhelming ZUS Coffee in straight sets, 25-20, 25-17, 25-20, to stretch its winning streak to two games in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Siklab series on Thursday night at the Ynares Center here.
Fresh off a thrilling reverse-sweep victory over Capital1 last Saturday, the Flying Titans showed no signs of slowing down, controlling the match from start to finish to seize the early lead in the standings with a 2-0 record.
Eya Laure delivered the finishing touches when ZUS Coffee threatened to prolong the match, scoring three points during a decisive 7-2 run that transformed Choco Mucho’s narrow 17-16 lead into a commanding 24-18 cushion in the third set.
AC Miner briefly halted the Flying Titans’ surge with a down-the-line hit before Laure sent an attack long. But the Choco Mucho star quickly atoned for her error, pounding an off-the-block winner to seal the straight-sets triumph.
“Ah, sobrang happy, siyempre, na-control namin ’yung game mula first set hanggang third set. Siguro, nagpakita talaga kami na ’yung ine-ensayo namin, kung ano ’yung puwede naming gawin sa loob, adjustment,” said head coach Dante Alinsunurin.
“Like, ’yung middle nga nila, alam namin na kayang mag-dominate. Siguro, nag-adjust kami na kailangan namin, every time na nasa amin ’yung serve, kailangan kargahan namin. ’Yun, nakuha namin, kaya sobrang thankful sa game. Kaya ayun, salamat sa panalo,” he added.
Sisi Rondina-Rosales, who came off the bench for the second straight game, spearheaded Choco Mucho’s attack with 15 points, all from spikes, as the Flying Titans wrapped up the 78-minute contest. Laure added 13 points and nine excellent receptions.
Kat Tolentino chipped in eight points and seven excellent digs, while Jai Atienza and Caitlin Viray contributed five and four points, respectively.
Alina Bicar orchestrated the offense with 13 excellent sets, while Dawn Catindig continued to settle into her new squad, anchoring the floor defense with 14 excellent digs.
Choco Mucho dominated the statistical categories, finishing with a 50-42 advantage in attacks, a 6-2 edge in blocks, and a 3-1 lead in service aces.
The Flying Titans also kept their errors to a minimum, committing just 12 while capitalizing on ZUS Coffee’s 16 miscues to complete the straight-sets victory.
Choco Mucho will next face Farm Fresh on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Meanwhile, the Thunderbelles dropped to 0-1 as they opened their campaign in the conference following an offseason that saw Thea Gagate depart for Japan SV League club Denso Airybees.
Miner paced ZUS Coffee with nine points, all from attacks, while Zam Nolasco and Riza Nogales chipped in seven points each. Jolina Dela Cruz finished with six points and 13 excellent receptions, while Chai Troncoso also contributed six points.
The Thunderbelles will look to bounce back against Capital1 on Tuesday at 1 p.m., also at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, as they seek their first victory of the tournament.
