Carlos credits Valdez guidance in Game 1 win

Tots Carlos and Creamline have set their sights on the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Finals after a convincing four-set win against F2 Logistics in the first game of their semifinal series.

The Cool Smashers had a solid start, winning the first two sets with ease, but stumbled in the third set due to a string of errors. They quickly regained their composure and delivered an impressive performance in the fourth set, finishing the match with a 26-24, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15 victory.

Tots Carlos scoring 22 points on 22 attacks while also providing 17 excellent digs and 15 excellent receptions. Speaking after the game, Carlos emphasized the team's determination to reach the Finals and make up for last season's third-place finish.

"We're happy because our mindset isn't just about making up for our previous loss. It's more about wanting to be in the finals since we only placed third last season," said the two-time PVL Most Valuable Player.

Despite their victory, the Cool Smashers are aware that they need to improve their game if they want to reach their goal.

Carlos gave credit to team captain Alyssa Valdez, who was absent due to injury but still played a vital role in motivating the team. Valdez's reminders and words of encouragement during the game and timeouts helped the Cool Smashers stay focused and composed.

Carlos shared, "Ate Ly said... well, Ate Ly speaks objectively, plus with motivations. So she only gives reminders on what she sees that we can still improve and fix. Like for example, on balls that we can still control, we can give it to Ate Jia [Morado]. So it's just reminders with a little motivation, and she reminds us to be patient and composed."

Looking ahead to the next game, Creamline is eager to maintain their momentum and secure a sweep against F2 Logistics.

With their eyes firmly set on the Finals, the Cool Smashers are taking things one step at a time, focusing on improving their game and making steady progress towards their ultimate goal.
