Akari has high hopes with addition of Sharma, Jazareno

Anticipation is mounting as Akari gears up for an exciting conference ahead.

The Power Chargers, which has long been known for its untapped potential, is ready to transform that potential into tangible victories.

The offseason was marked by a flurry of activity, as the Chargers made strategic acquisitions to bolster their lineup.

Among their key signings were the dynamic duo from De La Salle University, Fifi Sharma and Justine Jazareno. A

dditionally, the team added another layer of experience by bringing in the veteran presence of Roselle Baliton.

These new talents join an already formidable core, spearheaded by the likes of Faith Nisperos and Dindin Santiago-Manabat.

Faith Nisperos, entering her second conference with Akari, spoke of the team's dedication and their commitment to melding into a cohesive unit.

She emphasized, "We've been training really hard, and with the additional players, the pieces are slowly coming together."

Michelle Cobb, the team captain, echoed Nisperos' sentiments, expressing their collective aspiration to convert potential into concrete achievements.

She declared, "We don't want to be just potential; we want to make something out of it. That's our goal for this upcoming conference."

Nisperos pointed out the fervor and aggressiveness that the new recruits, particularly the former Lady Spikers, bring to the team. She believes this will be a valuable asset in the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference.

"The aggressiveness they've always showed during their performances is great to have on the court. I've learned a lot from them," she acknowledged.

Nisperos, in particular, is excited about the prospect of facing off against all the teams this season. Having gained experience in her rookie season, she is now better equipped to navigate the challenges of professional volleyball.

"Last season felt a bit incomplete for me, but now I'm more prepared. I know what to expect and how to respond," the Ateneo alumna explained.
